Changing people's lives, one volunteer at a time.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County! Our largest need is for volunteer drivers throughout the county.

It only takes a few hours a week to make an impact on someone's life. HCMOW would not be able to do what we do without the outstanding service and commitment of our volunteers! Most volunteers offer their services on a weekly basis. The time period varies slightly from site to site, but kitchen volunteers are needed in the mornings and Meals on Wheels drivers are needed between 10:00AM -1:30PM.  Routes take 1-2 hours to deliver. Fill out the application below to connect with Sean Conley, Volunteer Coordinator.

A few facts from our 2024 Meals on Wheels Volunteer Survey:

  • 98% of respondents rated their MOW volunteer experience as excellent or good
  • 99% of respondents find the volunteer experience rewarding
  • 97% would recommend volunteering with us to a friend or family member

Words of Wisdom from a Decade of Volunteering- Meet Cynthia!

Cynthia has been a dedicated volunteer for 10 years. After retiring, she found herself asking, "What can I do with my time to help people out?"  That question led her to volunteering with Meals on Wheels, where she has made a significant impact. For Cynthia, the most rewarding part of volunteering has been helping those who can no longer provide meals for themselves.

With a decade of experience, Cynthia has witnessed firsthand the importance of wellness checks and the critical need for Meals on Wheels services. "More than a meal" rings true, as over the years, she has observed the loneliness and isolation many face. Her dedication has made a profound difference in the lives of those she helps.

Her advice for prospective volunteers is simple but meaningful: "Consider what is involved with this opportunity and be willing to make the commitment to do the job the way it should be done."

As she puts it, "The participants change, but the need is always there," which is why she continues to volunteer and make a difference in the community.

Thank you for a decade of commitment to Meals on Wheels and our participants Cynthia!
